Atul Dhawan is a seasoned business leader with over four decades of experience across professional services, corporate governance, and strategic advisory. He is a key stakeholder in the Ecosystm Group, advising the leadership on the growth journey across its business units.
He retired as the former Chairman of Deloitte South Asia, where he spent nearly 40 years in senior leadership roles. During his tenure, he represented India on Deloitte’s Global Board, shaping global strategy, governance, and risk frameworks. As Chief Strategy & Innovation OJicer, he drove the design and execution of Deloitte India’s strategic roadmap and strengthened its engagement with the startup and innovation ecosystem.
Atul currently also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Biocon Limited, one of India’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. He also serves on the Board of Plan India, advancing gender equity and empowerment for women and girls, and continues to mentor startups, founders, and young professionals.
He has played stewardship roles in global industry platforms, including as Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in India, a member of the CII National Council, and an advisor to the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) in India. He has also supported the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on cross-border policy and trade initiatives.
Atul is a Chartered Accountant and Economics graduate from the University of Delhi. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, he continues to contribute as a coach and advisor. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, music, and reading.
