Deepak Kumar Sharma is a seasoned techno-commercial business leader with over three decades of experience building and scaling ventures across BFSI, technology, and telecom. He serves as a Board Member and Independent Director with leading financial institutions and is the Founder of a Venture Studio, where he mentors and helps scale early-stage companies through strategic and operational interventions. His current portfolio spans eight companies across data, security, AI, deep tech, and fintech.
Deepak has held senior leadership roles with prominent Indian and international banks, most notably Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he spent over 15 years. As the bank’s first President & Chief Digital Officer, he led landmark initiatives including Kotak 811, digital payments, India Stack integration, and embedded finance, helping position Kotak as a leader in digital banking innovation.
Today, Deepak sits on the boards of Suryoday Small Finance Bank and Experian India Credit, contributing to IT, security, risk, and audit committees. He also advises consulting firms and private equity funds on deal diligence and digital, technology, and operational transformation across sectors. His expertise spans digital platforms, fintech, SaaS, AI and deep tech, cybersecurity, data, fraud and risk management, and wealth tech.
In his spare time, Deepak likes to mentor founders, engage with the fintech and investment ecosystem, and co-host the podcast “Clearing the Blur,” where he brings together diverse voices to help accelerate the India story for the world.
