Her career encompasses leadership roles across top-tier brands in finance, aviation, energy, and critical infrastructure, particularly within regulated environments, including those governed by AER and APRA standards. As a cybersecurity leader, Simona is dedicated to protecting an organisation’s most valuable asset—its data. With a background as an information scientist, she advocates for the ethical use of data, positioning it as a strategic asset that drives unique value and resilience. Her intelligence-driven approach spans risk management, compliance, incident response, and board-level advocacy. She effectively engages with board members by simplifying complex cybersecurity concepts, aligning them with business goals, and empowering leadership to navigate digital risks. Simona is deeply involved in the Cyber and Tech Community, serving as a board committee member with AISA and as a Cyber Ambassador for NSW Investments. She is committed to the cybersecurity community, sharing insights and fostering industry discussions as a speaker and moderator. Most recently, she has led crisis management simulations and integrated cybersecurity into strategic planning for organisations of varying sizes. Her work with leading companies like Qantas, Macquarie Group, Ausgrid, and government entities has honed her ability to lead complex transformations and inspire strategic partners, stakeholders, and teams to deliver impactful results.
